Toot Toot!

Today’s blog topic is as follows:  Most of us are excellent at being too critical of ourselves and are not so good at the opposite. It’s time to toot your own horn! Tell us your favorite thing about yourself.

I would say that my favorite thing about myself is that I’m infinitely interested in learning about everything.  That, in my opinion, leads to a kind of fearlessness because it’s not just enough to know it but in order to truly understand the lessons, you must do it .

A new marketing technique?  Why not?  Let’s try it.  I’ll learn it.

A different method of doing something?  Why not?  Let’s try it.  I’ll learn it.

Eastern Philosophy?  Why not?

Hugh Everett’s many-worlds interpretation of Quantum Mechanics?  Suuuuuuure! Let’s try it.

In essence, my philosophy about most things is, why not?  Let’s learn it.  If another human can learn it, there is a HIGH degree of probability that I can as well.  This actually has lead to some interesting experiences including the creation of this company.  I tend to believe that people simply limit themselves needlessly.  They defeat themselves before they’ve begun to undertake whatever the task is.  The reason is that they allow fear to actually ‘stop’ their progress.

They allow the fear of failure or success to stop their progress.  The fear is the limiting factor.  To those individuals I strongly suggest that they read this, outloud, NOW.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

You have no need to fear.  You have no need to stop.  You have no reason to not succeed.

You are the master of your fate.

You are the captain of your soul.
